Volunteer Guides

A Volunteer Guide takes visitors on a tour

Career and volunteer opportunities

The Gallery provides career and volunteer opportunities in the areas of Curatorial and Collection Development, Public Programs, and Management and Operations.

The Corporate Administration Agency (CAA) coordinates the Gallery's recruitment activities, while volunteer opportunities are coordinated by the Gallery.

All current vacant positions are posted on the CAA website and the Queensland Government Jobs Online website.

Positions may also be advertised in the Saturday edition of The Courier-Mail.

Volunteers

The Gallery is supported by a strong team of volunteers who perform important roles in various areas of the Gallery's operations.

Curatorial volunteers (usually final-year or postgraduate art history students) provide assistance to specific curatorial projects. For information please submit an inquiry.

Volunteer guides undertake a structured training program, after which they conduct tours and participate in ongoing training. An intake of trainee volunteer guides for 2008 has been finalised. To express interest in receiving notification of the next intake please submit an inquiry.
