The Gallery presents a range of engaging and diverse exhibitions and programs for young people aged 13–25, including artist talks, performances, lectures, screenings and major events. The Gallery is also committed to providing professional development for young artists and students including bursaries, scholarships and exhibition opportunities.

During National Youth Week, 14–22 April 2007, young people had the opportunity to have their say about some of the works in 'The 5th Asia–Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art' by entering the What I think! competition. Prizes included iPod shuffles and CDs by APT5 performer Talvin Singh.
