Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship
The Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship is awarded annually to a Queensland artist aged 25 or under. It assists young and emerging artists by providing financial assistance to complete a specific body of work. The scholarship is funded by a grant from Mrs Yvonne Haysom in memory of her late husband, artist Melville Haysom.
Danny Ford was awarded the 2007 Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship to assist with his continuing art practice. Danny recently completed a Masters of Visual Arts at the University of Southern Queensland.
The scholarship is an excellent professional development opportunity for emerging Queensland artists. Past recipients include Christine Morrow, Sandra Selig and Jemima Wyman.
