Collection display
Gallery 15
The notion of the fragment as something disembodied from its original context and repositioned within a new field of association has been a significant and ongoing aspect of twentieth-century art practice. This display presents collages, assemblages and prints from the Queensland Art Gallery Collection which explore this notion. It complements the three-dimensional sculptures of the 'Lost and Found' exhibition for children, and includes works by Robert Klippel, Madonna Staunton and R.B. Kitaj.
