'Story Place: Indigenous Art of Cape York and the Rainforest' provides the unique opportunity to discover not only the dynamic contemporary art of the region, but also historical works dating from the end of the nineteenth century. From ancient ancestral stories, to personal stories of life in far-north Queensland today, the exhibition offers compelling insights into the art and culture of one of Australia's most isolated, yet culturally rich, regions. 'Story Place' features more than 300 works ― including 14 art works commissioned for the Gallery's Collection ― by more than 80 artists. For further information visit the 'Story Place' website.
A full-colour, 240-page book published in association with the exhibition is available from the Gallery Store.
