15 March - 9 June 2003
Gallery 4, Queensland Art Gallery
More than 30 works by leading contemporary Australian, Indigenous and international artists from the Gallery's Collection featured in 'Colour'. Artists included Bridget Riley, Howard Arkley and Michael Nelson Jagamara. The exhibition, designed as a series of coloured rooms, encouraged children to discover how artists use colour as a subject in itself, to create fascinating optical effects, and to express emotions and moods.
With a range of activities, the exhibition encouraged children to discover the sensory properties and the historical and cultural significance of specific colours.
