'Kids' APT' 2002, Kusama white room with coloured dots

'Kids' APT' 2002 activity by Yayoi Kusama ― children obilterated a white room with coloured dots.

Kids' APT 2002

11 September 2002 - 26 January 2003
Queensland Art Gallery

Continuing the success of 'Kids' APT' in 1999, 'Kids' APT' 2002 featured an activity area where children enjoyed interaction with art works specially created by artists. For instance, children were encouraged to decorate a pure white room with coloured dots, inspired by the art of Yayoi Kusama. Over time, the room became encrusted with thousands of brightly coloured dots, changing its appearance forever. Dots were also found all over the city!

The exhibition mascot, Bug Master, drew the children's attention to information labels written just for them, and led them through the various activities in the activity booklet.
